I have a new ford motor and everything uns fine. But when gets up to temp the pressure drops to 15 or 20 lbs. If you rev it up it get about 50lbs. Is this normal, engine builder says he builds them with lower oil pressure. Any help here would be great.

I May Be Wrong But It Sounds Like To Munch Clearance Between The Main Bearings,I Have'nt Heard Of Anyone Building A Motor With Low Oil Preasure.

15-20 is good for idle. You don't need any more than that. As long as pressure hit's 35 by 15-1800 you fine. Your builder probably didn't want to explain to you that a stock pump was used and the clearances could be a little big but still on the safe side.

I agree with Lizard, it sounds ok as long as it picks up when you turn some rpms. My warning light comes on at 15 or 20 pounds and when I come in after a race at 210 degrees or so, my light flickers on especially if I let it idle down to 1000 or so. I have 50 to 60 pounds hot when i have the rpms up though.
