A friend of mine tried to put 1.6 rockers on a hobby stock and said the pushrods bound up. I have run 1.6 rockers before and never had any such problems. He was running stock heads, stock hyd. cam and most likely stock springs. I'm trying to figure out if it was pushrods or valve springs binding. Would 1.6 rockers cause pushrods to bind? Thanks.

the slot in the head the pushrod goes thru is a factory guide. It must be elongated for 1.6 rockers. If useing guide plates its just drilled out round.

You might also think of valve length. Get a pushrod gauge, at a racing parts store. Check if it has proper alignment, and in cases where 1.6 are used, check to make sure there is no coil bind.

When you say binding are you also referring to bending? I had bent a few pushrods when I changed to 1.6 rockers. I had to have the machine shop elongate the holes in the heads. They used a tool called a louis tool. Its about 30 dollars. WR#66
