I had one done on a street car but never on a race motor. We put about 20,000 miles on the car motor and sold it to a friend who used it in a bracket drag car about 4 months before he rebuilt it. He said the rods were still good. I have read somewhere where it is possable to be done on a race motor.
IF you do it good luck! For the price of a set of good rods these days I think I would just buy a replacement set and keep the 7 good ones for next time.

Buy a single thats wt matched.

Who wont break a set to sell you a rod, we all should know so we NEVER buy rods from them!!!!!

I had a hard time getting a detroit power single rod because all the broken sets competition products had were too heavy (50 grams)and Detroit powers whole building burned down to the ground the day before I called.
I ended up getting a heavy one and drilling holes and chamfering them in the beam to lighten it.

like Istock said, buy a single of the same length, shouldnt hurt to run mismatched rods.

if it is an h-beam and is not too bad, i can straiten it for you,i have two in my 435 i have bent back and have ran them two not just get one of the same length, they need to be same length, weight, otherwise your hole rotating assembly will be off balance..

Ditto on Jpotter, Same length, weight and make sure the big and small end weights are also the same as the old ones. It could be the same overall weight but the ends could weigh more or less.
