No responses?? Anyone have any info on mufflers? What about the IMCA Spec mufflers speedway sells (P/N 917-00609)? Any ideas on how much power these things might cost me?

Any insights would be appreciated!!

hooker max flows work really well, straight thru design flow good and are pretty quiet, summit has them for $57 each i think, been using mine for 2 years with a 95dbi rule and never had any probs.

flowmaster 2 into 1 Y pipe dumped into a dynomax 6" round x 16" long muffler. Ours is 4" in/out. They are a straight through design and do a great job of dampening the sound at a great price.

If you run a modified, go with Spintech's. Most of the sprint cars in California run them. I use them on my modified and they are compact and easy to fit along the left side driver's compartment.

The spin techs are pretty much the best , and depending on what you are turning for rpm, etc.. you may be able to get away with the smaller sized spintech. its enough smaller to matter in weight and such. if its real close you can fashion a mesh cone and put it in front of the muffler, thats usually good for 1 or 2 DB. The large oval flowmasters are pretty good as well. I use mainly the large flowmasters just so its never close, but I have used the and still have the smaller spintech on one set of headers also. but use turndowns and point them away from the sound guy, that does wonders also.... washington is worse than california on sound.. so trust me these are your only options for a true 95DB...

Only 5 HP huh? That seems pretty reasonable. They do appear to reduce the noise quite a bit. My hearing might be worth 5 HP!! Can anyone confirm this number??

The IMCA spec mufflers wont get you below 95 dbas. They only drop about 3 decibels from wide open.
