got a power glide and after looking over it i noticed it appears to have a short tailshaft, and the rear output has course splines rather than the more common finer spline. are there any good or bad things about this style? and most of all where can i buy a yoke to fit this course output?

These were mostly used in 60-67 Chevy 1/2 ton trucks.

I have the same trany in my car. Works fine ,no problems. I got my yoke from M&R racing (920-528-7090).

the coarse splined shaft was only in the 1962,1963,and the short tail 1964 models. I have one in my car and it works great.

And just for fun I'll pass along this bit of info I picked up years ago ; to easily tell the difference between a six cyl. (1.82) and a eight cyl. (1.76) ratio, measure the dia. of the input shaft. The six is twenty thou smaller.
( hope I didn't mix up the ratio's. )

It's good to know when at the junkyard and they all look alike.

still looking for a 16 spline yoke for a powerglide, anyone know who i may try? this is a rare part, the trany is useless with out the yoke.
