We are running a street stock and legal now with a single disc clutch. We are going to use a ultra light flexplate, $89, and they advertise some five hole shims as a must when using a flexplate. Why are they needed and how many would a person use and where would they go?

Between the crank flange and the flexplate. You gotta have the ring to bendix right so they won't break on ya.

That is why we took two teeth off our last flexplate and the starter gear was missing the last and only time we use a triple disc clutch. Makes sense. Thanks
