Anyone on here run a HTD drive belt on the water pump? My problem is with a 35 tooth upper pulley and a 19 tooth lower pulley, a 600mm belt seems to be about 8-9mm too long, and the next shorter belt is 560. My only options may be an adjustable water pump? or maybe some sort of idler?

In lieu of buying a new water pump you can drill out the four mounting holes of your existing water pump (1/2"). This may give you the necessary adjustment you need to tighten the belt. Remember, the belt should not be tight when the belt is installed, it will tighten as the rpm's are increased.

What type of fan do you have? I have run just about all types of cogs on my water pump and broke them all with a 4 blade steel fan. When i ran the plastic fan it didnt break but the motor ran cooler. They allways broke when i didnt want em to ...i now run a 2 groove pulley for the water pump.....plus most the cog pulleys slow the flow to much....just my 2 cents

I'm running a plastic fan with alcohol, so i don't think i'll have a cooling problem,As far as breaking the cogs, i would like to hear more if anyone else has run this setup. I did contact speedway, and found out i need to run a 25 tooth bottom pulley with a 600mm belt and problem will be solved, I guess that's what i'll do. Thanks for the input.
