Would it be ok to run the temp sender in the top port of the water pump ?

the best place to put it is near the t-stat housing. this is where the water temp is highest (just before it enters the radiator). i run mine on the intake just before he t-stat housing.

you can if you want, but like said above its best to run in on the manifold, thats where most everyone runs it

Top of the water pump would tell you the temp of the water going into your motor, not out of your motor which is what you should be more concerned with.

Plus wouldn't be a pain for something as simple as changing a water pump or changing a leaking gasket? Just a thought!
