I run in street stock, engines are fairly stock, can't run aluminum intake, must have "stock" heads (1.94/1.60) cam is around .500 lift, no porting allowed also no headers. Wondering if anyone saw any gains using vortec exhaust manifolds over stock? The vortec ports look small but heard they add some more jam.

We cant use ram horns on our car so we use the vortech ones off of the mid 90's trucks. They are decent, but I couldnt tell you if I've seen any gain or not.

I'd use both angle back 2 1/2 or 3 inch ram horns if I could.

The ram horns are illegal at my track. Anyone else use the vortecs? Gains?

Vortecs wouldnt fit the drivers side of my stock Monte Carlo...People here use Ram Horns but those wouldnt fit either. Brzezinski says if you cant use Ram Horns the log style is best and thats what fit best too.

Are ram horns the same as center dumps, if so can't use them. Also no aftermarket, reworked or factory tuned manifolds allowed. Just wondering if anyone has noticed any power gains using the vortecs.

Ram Horn, Center Dumps are the same thing. The Log Style is a factory manifold, usually find them on ebay often. As for gains with Vortecs, I dont know...

The vortec manifold are a good larger log style exhaust manifold and the rear opening is bigger than most. I used them and was happy with their performace

i use a set that exit at the rear on my metric monte and have been very happy with them they flow way better than vortecs, but it took me a very time to find them they both exit at the rear like the vortecs but are way bigger runners and 2 1/2" outlets
(yes they are a stock piece too)

If your rules say stock exhaust, then headers came stock on some 1970 Nova's...

i used manifolds off of a van and anothe pair i saw in a guys shop i'm not sure what they came off of but look for a big letter N on manifold near the collector area others have an n but not like these thy also have a threaded hole toull have to plug but these are bigger than your average log. i measured many in comparison

Either carcraft or hotrod mag did a story years ago testing manifolds. They did come up with the winner on log style manifolds. Don't recall the year, but I remember something about late seventies trucks. You'd probably have to find that article to be sure.
