If you had the money to spend on porting and polishing of heads OR buying a Bert,Falcon tranny? Right now im running Mods with World product Windsor heads and running a lightened 3 speed. Where am I going to get the best benefits? Thanks

If you do the heads only smooth out the rough edges. With out a flow bench you can do more harm then good by just hogging them out.

opinions vary, but personally I'd do the heads. You could have a pro do quite a bit of work for the $7-900 bucks the trans would cost. It kinda depends how much the heads are holding back the rest of your combination now, and how much the head pro can gain you from where you're at now.

If I had the extra money and had to decide I would go have my head examined to see if there was ANY way to help me stop racing.

They have AA, NA, GA,......But no support group for racers that want to quit. I think someone should start a program....just like AA with 10 steps, and a SPONSOR..... call your sponsor anytime day or night and meet for coffee to talk about your problems and how bad you want to go take another bite of the apple.......

I personally would opt for the heads, my reasoning.... say you can gain 50HP from the heads..... I know if you put the car on a chassis dyno and swapped trannies it wouldn't take as much horsepower.... I think the on a chassis dyno the gain to the rear wheel will be better with the heads not the tranny swap......

It would be very unlikely to gain 50 hp from porting those heads..you would have to do the intake too and probably make other changes to your induction and exhaust and cam choice. All of this will cost you a lot of dough. If you want to do anything, sell the world heads and get into a set of N351 heads..you will have a big gain then. Also the transmission is a more valuable resale item when you get ready to sell it. Plain HP gain on a chassis dyno is not all there is to consider here. 1st you are lightning your whole package and definently your rotating mass, this will let you get in the corners deeper and come out faster. The trans is the way to go because they are extremely durable too.

good luck racing and keep the Ford blue flowing!

One other factor is if you go with the trans it will be around for some time....motors come and go...if you blow the motor and destroy a head then you have to have it repaired if possible or replace with new head and have it matched to the old. I would also have to agree with ford5 on getting in better with it and less spinning off the back of the crank. Just my 2 cents

I agree with Ford5, I swapped my WP's for a set of N351 and that was the power ticket but the light 3 speed could no longer handle the power so in goes the Falcon.
