Ok the engine I have been running and will be running has stock internal parts, except Hypo. pistons good bearings and ARP Bolts.
It has a good balance job thats the only thing going for it. Right now we are running about 11:01 comp. I would like to bump the comp to around 13:01 for next year but want to know if it will hold up?

i've ran that same combo up to 7k rpm and had it last 60+ nights. stock cranks are fine just mag them, same with the rods. a good set of balanced and resized gm rods are as good if not better than china rods that are who knows what size and what material?

Well how about pink rods do you think they will hold up? a little better than what I have in engine I guess. or what is a good inexpensive rod that will work?

a pink rod is just a stock rod that has been magna fluxed and shot peened, many of the rebuilt stock rods have also had this done as part of the rebuild process so they are pretty good my 5.7 rods from midwest in my 406 have went a few years now at 6800 no prob. as a side note my bros. 406 with lunati crank eagle h beam rods srp pistons all balanced all parts magged before install got about 75 laps before the eagle rod pulled in two at 6500 rpm, I will take stock rods any day over chinese paper wieghts.

I'm beginning to wonder about the aftermarket stuff... A lot of guys say its new so its definately better, but if the stock stuff checks out ok, then run it. THats what i ran this year was a stock crank, stock x rods, speed pros, built by jr motorsports. Plus re-built rods are getting cheaper and cheaper

See the stock rods work fine with the comp that I have been running, and I will probably end up using the same thing next year.
I just wanted to know the comp limit of the stockers. 13:1 on stockers?? I just dont want to run them if they wont hold up for sure or, just going to be a time bomb.
how are those scat I beam rods? I see some of them on ebay for pretty cheap.

The Scat I-Beams are fine, but i'd mag them and have them checked for size, just to be safe. You can run the Scat lower end stuff, as long as you Mag them, and have the cranks checked for roundness, and the rods checked for size
