I have several double hump heads. We are required to race them,or any iron heads.I want to angle mill them.Can anybody give me how much to take off. I am running alki,with dome pistons. Thanks

The last set we had done was cut 0.175.This doesn't leave room for any more surfacing.Most shops cut 0.150.If there done right,the intake will fit correctly.

I've done .185 off of virgin heads, but like he said, there aint much room for "cleanin up the surface"!
If youre "scared" just cut em .150, but if you want everything you can get, go .175...and never look back!

A couple of point to ponder.....
Re-face the held bold head surface on the head itself to the same angle of the new head or your head bolts will not seat correctly in the head (uneven surface.) We also had a header clearance issue with the new angle - head clearance over the frame dropped. You will need to re-face the intake surface of the head. The most we have milled double humps are .100 to .125.
