Ok, here's the deal. I have an option of using Speedpro Hypereutectic H245ncp, Cast pistons, or Forged. The Cast pistons I weighed are the lightest believe it or not and of course the cheapest. I've won championships with them b4. The Hypereutectic I hear are prone to shattering if a valve sticks (I have had this happen a few times) The forged are heavier by a small margin but have advantages. What would you use and why?

There are plenty of affordable forged piston options out there that are quite a bit lighter than cast or hypereutectic pistons. It just depends on which ones fit your application, really.
SRP, CSP, Pro-Tru, and others all are good pistons, and I'd be more comfortable using them any day than any cast piston out there whatsoever.

If you don't make any mistakes and don't abuse them the cast are fine, like you said they can't touch anything.....
