In the process of rebuiding my 3-link, my question is where to put my mounting brackets for the lower control links. Do they go below center line of axel or should I put a bracket in front of axel centerline on housing, if below, how far 3inches below axel center or ?. Any help would be appreciated also where to mount my springs? In front or behind and if I do, do I just make a bracket coming offrearend housing to the front or rear and what height, above axel centerline? Below? or flush with top of housing?

You will want all of your mounting points on the rear end (springs, shocks, trailing arms) to be below the housing I put together my own three link and made trailing arm brackets for the rear end which mounted the arm about three inches below the akle housing. Spring and shock mounts should be maybe an inch or two below that. If anyone can explain the reason for this that would be great, God knows I can't LOL. I ran the springs on top of the housing for ease and simplicity, plus I'm cheap and didn't want to buy eliminators. Mounting them in front or behind the housing can make for a lot of adjustment though. Put the springs in front if you want more anti squat when you punch it, and mount them behind if you want less. Some people have one in front one in back.

With the car at ride height, I like to have my trailing arms pointed upward towards the chassis to get a little bit of roll-steer, the more angle, the more roll steer, if it is pointed downwards at static ride height, you will have anti roll steer, which I've never heard of anybody wanting. My 2 cents

Has anyone ever tried different mounting pionts and had any luck?

The center of the lower links needs to be about 4" below the center of the axle. Much less than that and the forces get very high and the joints wear.
