will a electric fan cool a mod running on gas? cant afford a new carb to run alcohol so we need to get by on gas. will it cool at high speed or should we turn it off at race speed? any ideas will be very helpful. would we be better off running a fan on the water pump real close to the radiator instead? thanks in advance.

How do you plan on keeping your battery charged? A properly installed fan shroud with the proper pulley reduction to keep the water in the block just long enough to remove the heat from the block works really well.

posted July 31, 2002 09:32 PM I run a street stock with a 355, 11-1 compression. I have twin electric fans and it runs about 200 degrees. I crank about 6500. I am not sure if one would do the job. I run an alternator to keep my battery charged. This past weekend I forgot to turn the alt. on and ran all night and the car still started up fine. Also my alt. is run off the rear-end.
