Snapped the input shaft last weekend on my 3spd toploader that has chevy input shaft, and wanted to know if anyone knows where I might find one of these rare input shafts. Need to know who I can talk to that might know these trannies and where I can find parts.

I run top loader 3sp ford trannys I have destroyed quite a few, Plus we own a salvage yard where we have quite a pile of Ford stuff. And I have never seen a top loader Ford tranny with a Chevy style input shaft! do you know what it might of came out of??

Thanks for the responses. First, It's my understanding that this rare tranny was produced in the late 60's when the GM tranny plant burned down, and Ford was contracted to build a select few for GM- Pontiac muscle cars, I think. Anyway, the input shaft is shorter than the standard Ford Toploader and measures the correct length for a Chevy. All this info was passed along to me by the guys that gave me the tranny, so I don't know for sure, but you wrecking yard guys should be able to find out for sure.

Second, thanks for the web site reference. I'll contact them today and see what they have to say.
