Has anyone ever bent there lightweight steel spool? If so how did you fix it or is it junk? I went to put my new gears on it and it had a real tight spot and can only figure that it was the spool. I did take it apart from a slight bent pinion on the old gears, could that have caused the spool to get bent? Thanks guys!!

put the spool in the case without the pinion and spin it with a dial indicator to see where or if it is bent...I've touched them with a mill to flatten depending on where they are bent...yes you can bend them but they aren't automatically junk

Sure did Craig. Last years last race when the tranny puked. It also spun the pinion gear AND bent the spool. Was bad enough you could see it wobble when you spun the ring without the pinion in the pumkin. I figured mine was junk. For just having first gear seize to the main shaft it sure caused lots of trouble.
