Just curious, How many guys run a mount under the tailshaft housing on there transmissions. Or do you just bolt them to the back of the motor/midplate and let it hang?

the best thing i've seen is a brace that bolts to the trans mount boss (underneath), runs out each side a couple inches then has two brace rods that run up to top mounting bolts on bellhousing. kind of triangulates everything. thie was on an automatic. on our three speed we welded two ears in the middle on top of our bellhousing and ran a tube with two heim joints on it down to one of the shifter bosses on the tail of the trans. works great! if you have a rough track like we do,(more like baja races lately) you need to keep the flex or bounce out of your drivetrain, especially if you run an automatic. there was a write up on burt brown racing transmissions a while back in one of the magazines (circle track ? stock car racing ? ) if i remember they had a pic of what you need, real simple to build once you see it.
