were on gas, got a bg gold claw 775...74 jets in the front, 76 in back..31 squirters in front and rear...been fighting this for awhile..this year went with a 50cc pump in the back...fixed the problem until saturday, just plain lazy on the starts and restarts..stand on the gas and just get a real slow acceleration. the track was extremely rough, everything looks ok..fuel filter is ok..its dang aggravatin...the 50cc pump seemed to fix it, ran about four races with it..and its hard to tell if its a too much or too little gas problem, like i said stand on the gas and get that slow baaahhhhh..doesnt skip or miss or anything, just lazy as **** ....please help, thanx guys..

have you checked to make sure no powervalves are blown?

thats a good point..no not yet..they were new at the beginning of the season..we havent had engine backfire thru the carb..is there another way that they can go bad? thanks for the input, i will definitely check them though..thanks

can you see fuel shoot out of the fron and back when you look down the carb and move the throttle(engine off of course).

Do you have a lot of play between the linkage arm to the pump arm?? I think holley says to leave a little clearance but i think it is best to just take up any clearance and stop so they are just touching. that way there is no delay in pump action.

have you checked that little umbrella valve in the pump?? If it doesn't seal the pump will try to force fuel back into the bowl not into the carb.

Also is you pump cam on the throttle shaft OK or is it wearing away?? if it wears away then your pump shot decreases and get increasingly worse.

Just some things to check. Let us know if you find the problem.

well i just came in from putting two new power valves in it..havent checked the umbrella, ill check the cam, it was new just about five races ago though and i usually dont run any play between the throttle lever and the pump arm...thanks for the input guys..

dirtracer, maybe help maybenot,first of all, a quick reveiw. check timing , pull plugs see how they are burning,another is what is your idle out on the track ,under yellow or at restart?we found that 1200 -1500 rpms are great ,much better throtle response, on take offs. hope this helps.
