Just wondering what type of gearboxes you guys run over there & why. Over here in the UK most of us are using Doug Nash 2 speed boxes. I hear that you guys are using Bert/Brinn & Richmond with its dog gears (what are these like, can you down shift for the turns on a tight track with long straights without using the clutch?) & how reliable are they?
Thanks.

no down shifting with bert or brinn...low gear is acheived by pushing in clutch pedal and engaging an internal mini clutch(similar to motorcycle) low gear is for idling around pits, only other forward gear is direct...if used properly they are virtually in-destructable..don't have any experience with richmonds other than they are an externally clutched transmission..

as I said I don't have any experience with richmonds but I beleive they are a 4 or 5 speed tranny which would be overkill for and IMCA type deal...but I'm sure they are legal the way the rules are written...they come stock in Mustang's and other sports cars..
