Does anyone use crate engines? If so, what is a good place to get them from? We are new to the modified class, will run Chevy with double humps heads and muncie tranny (until it breaks). We just moved and won't be starting a shop for about 2 years so we are thinking about using a couple of crate engines. I would like to know who you use to get them from, which ones and how they perform and which ones seem like they are worth the money. Sure hope some of you answer, this is what we will have to do for about 2 years until we are able to build a shop and get the equipment set up.

I ORDERED A MIDWEST MOTORSPORTS SHORT BLOCK LAST YEAR AND IT RAN GREAT I WON THE THE FIRST TWO RACES OUT W/ IT. I BROKE IT TWICE THIS YEAR ONCE I BURNT A PISTON AND THE OTHER TIME I SPUN A BEARING AND CRACKED THE CRANK. MIDWEST JERKED ME AROUND BOTH TIMES AND TOOK FOREVER TO GET ME MY PARTS. I FEEL THEY COULD HAVE DID A LITTLE BETTER ON GETTING ME MY PARTS SOONER. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER ONE (or anything) FROM THEM, ONLY BECAUSE OF THERE SERVICE. THE ENGINE RAN GREAT AND STILL RUNS GREAT.

Alot of people out here where I run (montana) uses Adams engines form Wisconson? They swear by them, after the season, you send it in and they freshen it up for you and send it back for around 1000. Nobody I know has blown one up yet.

I think sandusky speedway is the only track in ohio that has similar rules to IMCA. Asphalt track though.

There is only 1 trach in OH. that is IMCA sanctioned. I'm not sure were it is though.
