What do you guys use for weight? The lead in speedway is pretty cheap, but the shipping would be more than the cost of the weight. I think I'm gonna have to add 300 to 400 lbs.

I was given this advice from this forum and it worked out great for me. I found a tire shop that was willing to give away the old wheel weights they used. I put them in a iron pot over a propane fish cooker. It takes a little while for the lead to start melting (20 mins or so) but once it starts you can add more and it melts down pretty quick. Use a spoon to scoop out the steel pieces that float to the top, wear a respirator, and be careful pouring it. Pour it into a valve cover or some kind of mold. I used 3x3 tubing with one side cut out and the ends capped. It will fall out once cooled. Hope this helps, it helped me.

I do the same thing but I use 2x3 square tubing. Stand it on end on steel table, fill with lead and leave lead in tubing. Drill hole in each end to mount. The steel tubing will keep the lead from coming loose around the bolts. 17" of 2x3 tubing full of lead is about 35lbs.
