I am looking for some input on the belt driven fuel pumps. I have always ran the mechanical ones , and usually go through atleast one a season. (At this point 1 DNF could make a differance for me)
Any experience, ideas or suggestions on this?

I second the KSE pump i got my first one at a swap meet for $250 ran it for 2 years with no probs,(never even worry about it). Then got another with the tilton clutch setup and used the other for a spare. That was some of the best $$ spent for my car.

Go with a good belt drive W/reg and sweet ps pump. Samething Wayne Brooks runs.

I currently run a BG bypass. Any problems using this set up with a belt driven pump?
Are they compatible?

If you get a kse it has a built in bypass that works pretty good. I think if you have one of the BG that shut the fuel return off in sure that will feed to much to the carb. Just my 2 cents!

The BG throttle bypass is for a mech pump. Use a regulator for a belt drive if not built in the pump.

A friend put a belt drive fuel pump on his car and ran this past Sat. it flooded out the carb pretty bad when rpm's were up. He has a C&S ball valve bypass system. We shortened the arm so it would not close completely and really improved the performance. It is still not right and we thought about removeing the valve completely.
He had 15 + psi on the gauge. Whats the proper way???
thanks

I would look at the needle and seat on that carb, if he was getting full pressure it may have damaged them. You can get a pill type that goes in line, i have heard they work pretty good with the belt pumps.

I like the KSE tandem pump. It has the built in regulator for idle and pill for the high rpms. I did have a little problem with fuel pressure when I tried running the pill provided for it. They sent three differnt size pills with the pump, but even the smallest wasn't small enough. I ordered a couple smaller pills and also a blank to tune for my needs. I have 2 psi at idle which really keeps it from loading up and pull 11 psi down the straights. Couldn't ask for more.

Hey dmdracer, the ball valve from c&s is for mechanical pumps..you need to run a diaphram style regulator or a pill style..
