My dad just purchased a dirt works mod last year and I am doing as much research as possible to learn what I can about the set-up. We run on 3/8 med banked, usually tacky, track. Our rear-end: could classify as a 2-bar car I guess. Short bar on lft side, long bar on rght side (about 2" difference in wheelbase). Rght spring on top of rear-end, lft spring in frnt of rear end on a slider, but still hooked to the rear end. Rubber pull bar and rubber j-bar. w/out driver: 52%cross, 57%rear, 44%lft side, on 3/4 tank of full. On tacky, car is ok. lft rear pulls forward and gets ok bite and rear end lifts up a lot. On dryslick, HORRIBLE. Overall problems: can't pull out of corner as well as others, car will NOT run low. (are we getting too much roll-over). THANKS in advance for ANY HELP!

Did you buy the car used? If so ask the person your dad bought it from for set up sheets and ask him what he did to get bite on a dry slick track.

The car was new. I am trying to use this site as a learning device to gain knowledge about this sport, that is why I posted this thread. Sometimes it doesn't seem like you can trust the person you ask individually, or say on the phone, but on here, it is all public and people don't seem to put false info. because it would make them not look too smart. So I am really glad I ran into this site.

You can go to dirtworks web site and get a copy of the set up sheet for you'r car. Myself I like both springs on top of rearend and 53%left side 58% rear 35lb split with 20gal. of fuel with out driver it works for me every one drives differt.

dluna, have you tried changing your offsets at all. Alot of people forget that adjustment, and go straight to moving bars and change the whole cars set-up. As the track gets slicker, go to a 4" offset on the RR, and 2" on the LR. On the RF, go from a 3" to a 2". Also, if you are pulling the LR FWRD under accelleration, that is loosening the car up. When the track gets really slick, you will probably need to run the left side bar with a little more angle up from the rear-end to the chassis. That will take some of LR lead out of the car and will also help in loading the rear tires equally. I have never ran a DW, but my Harris is the same rear suspension and that is the changes I like from heavy to slick.
