What are some of the different ways of mounting a front bumper on the front of a modified?

The best way i have been using to mount front bumpers on mods is to shorten and narrow the front horns and cap them on the front and side. Drill holes in the side and use 1/2 inch flange nuts and weld them in. This is the way a bunch of other manufacturers use to mount the front bumper. I have tryed slugs and slide the bumper on and welding a angle to the front of the horn and bolting the bumper to that . The above mentioned is the best in my oppinion takes more work to get the horns ready but its worth it in the long run.

Same as above, but always so the bumper can be removed and replaced with another. the horns were strengthened and then bigger pipe was stubbed with a smaller pipe bumper fitted inside of it. I always worry about the horns though, if you think of something better let us know.

As stated above, I always plate the front of the frame horns, but I notch out the outer corner and weld a piece of 1" square stock that sticks up about 4" above the horn, I 45 the top and cap this.I then weld a piece to top of horn to the upright one at 45deg. as triangulation is key to strenght. Bumpers have angle mounted to them and attach with two 3/8 bolts on each side. This is very strong and bumpers are quickly replaced. Besides plating the frame horns, you should completly weld the entire seams of the stock frame for addes strength.
