How much difference does a rear spoiler make on a modified. Where on the track does it make the most difference? The track I am going to run at allows 8 inch spoilers, I am just wondering if we run somewhere else without a spoiler or when the USMTS rolls through with 5 inch spoilers how much different will the car handle?

Unless you can afford a wind tunnel, the only way to know for sure is assume they will help. Nascar has 5.5 to 6.25 spoilers and they can't live without them. So I'll bet yours will help, probably all the way around in some form. I saw an article once in Stock Car Racing about some saturday night racers that cut, like, 3 to 4 inch peices of yarn and taped them to their car everywhere, then filmed the car from another going around the track, to see what the yarn was doing in the wind. This may interest you if it doesn't sound like to much work. Something to keep in mind too, they wouldn't have you running them if they thought they were usless

The bigger the spoiler the more down force you will have at the rear of the car. Full allowed size may cause the car to have a push too much bite. Will need to adjust your car and balance it out. Record what you did to balance out the car for when you have to run a smaller spoiler.
