Tire Stagger has me a bit confused. We just purchased 6 new tires (Hossier). We have not installed these yet and i was wondering What kinds of stagger most are using. The ones we got were 2-87 3/4 "----- 2- 87 1/4---and 2- 87 " ( this was measured at factory at 35 lb.-- Did we get the right mix and if I'm thinking straigt the larger tires should be on the right side. Hoosier is what we have to run at our track this year so no bad mothing about them--lol

What size stagger do you guys run and where do you place them. Hope this is a fair question. thanks in advance!!!

first of all you need to mount them and recheck the run out i've found that the marked tires are bigger than actual size. yes you normally run the bigger tire on the right side depending on track size how much stagger or a qiuck fix if your trying to get the car to turn their is no standard you will have to se what works for your car at your track. I always check my tires at 15psi thats middle of the road of what preassures i run.

I put the biggest one on the right rear, smallest one on the left rear. Unless if the difference is more than a couple of inches. Then I put the second largest one on the right front, and the second smallest one on the left front. If I am too loose, I just switch the left side tires, which takes stagger out of the rear, and puts it in the front. I generally can only afford to have four or five tires to work with at a time, so maybe I don't have the best advice.

The most important thing your doing when you change stagger is changing weight distribution. There are multiple ways to do it, but this is an easy fix.

If these are the e-mod tire you will be surpised when you get em mounted.i have found that getting em that close it size that by the time you adjust for pressure they will be allmost the same. i normaly buy the 89 for the rr and the 86 for all the rest. I may pick up a 86 1/2 just to use on the lr to take stagger out. Best thing to do is mount and air all and check then keep track of what they were so when you buy more you have an idea what you need. I could tell ya what they come out to but thats on my stagger stick ....and they are all diff. Hope this helps

Thanks guys your giving some Ideas to work with. We will keep records and play around with this.

PS will 1 inch difference in the tires make a significant difference???

I have found out that on a wet track for me, one inch doesn't really make a difference, but on a real slick track, every little thing makes a difference for my car (usually bad). I guess what I'm trying to say is tacky is more forgiving.
