I run a Mod with a 86 Crown Vic clip and I wanted to quicken the steering up from a 1.5:1 to a 2:1 quickener. I did this and it seemed the pump could'nt keep up. It seemed when you jerked the wheel it locked up for a split second. (pressure lock) I run a Chevy pspump with an external can like the sell from sweet mfg. Only thing is mine is stock and i was wandering if the ones you buy from the racing companies are tned up for more presure or not. One guy told me to drill out the pressure orfice to a bigger size like his was but it didnt seem to help. So I am back with the 1.5:1 ratio quickener unless you guys have got some ideas. It is a ford box and as a last resort i can put a chevy box on but I just want some info. Thanks

I like fast steering so I lined up a 1.5 and a 2.0 in series. It's a little harder to turn, but it doesn't bind up. Those quickners are adjustable for gear wear. If the gears don't have enough play, they will bind up.
