Ok, you guys/gals have been talking about getting some sort of new class going in Houston that utilizes a mod chassis/suspension with just more of a limited motor/tranny rule.

SIMS has been trying to put ideas together to sanction a full modified class for the 2003 season in addition to our Limited Modifieds. We want your input on the rules! I'm not mentioning any names, but some Houston tracks may not be UMP sanctioned following 2002. So, if we can get on the ball now, SIMS will do whatever it takes to try and get modifieds in at the tracks that will not be going back with UMP and maybe convince some other tracks to look at getting the modifieds back to where they originally started.

Let us have it!

Shreveport, La has a track that is being built- ARK-LA-TEX Speedway. They are gonna run a Limited Modified and the rules are already written maybe you can give the owner a call then atleast maybe if one of the tracks had a big money race then the cars would be on the same page, if someone wanted to go. Phone number 318-375-3470/ 318-218-9430 (Gene)

Yes, this is the track that Gene Boyter is building. I have seen the rules for the Limited Modified class he will run, but do not know if they are posted on the web site yet.

The Address is www.arklatexspeedway.net

We have spoke with Gene and we're currently trying to work the deal out so that he can be SIMS sanctioned.

The new mod class I'm referring to would be more like a B-Mod type deal for 2003. Let us have your comments!

I like what he's trying to do, make racing as affordable as possible. I just want to go into battle, think I'm a nascar driver for 30 minutes, and go home with a smile. As long as I don't have to peddle a bicycle and suffer from side cramps, I'm having fun and I would probably have fun if I was winning the Bike race.
