I have a multi leaf chassis that I have been thinking about changing to 2 link or swing arm. Has anyone ever tried this? Is it worth the trouble? What do I need to change in order to make this work? Any help is appreciated.

the only thing that would be needed are a couple of radius rods and a method of mounting a pan-hard bar. depending on the method of attaching the rear springs (weight jacks or sliders) there is not that much fabricating to be done if the car is underslung.

That is where I think I will have the most problems with, it is an overslung chassis.

prolly your best bet would be to make a little underslung tube frame...and on the left (driver) side put an upright for a j-bar or short-panhard bar...and you can buy the multi hole brakets for the lower links, and clamp on triangle i call them brakets for the rear end..for the shock one side and coil eleminator other side...if its a stack leaf then you will need to make a pull bar mount on the rear end and chassis....you can make or buy these already drilled and sorta fitted to a 9in. rear. a good winter project....i myself think it would be worth it...if your wanting to continue to race this chassis.

I did this same exact thing to my 98 Shaw car that i have, except that the J-bar moutn was already there for me. just took off the leaf blocks from under the rearend and bolted up some two link mounts.

It will definitely be worth the trouble. If you do the work youself rather than let someone else do it for you, you will understand your suspension a lot better. Put plenty of holes for the forward trailing arm mounts to get at least 20 degrees uphill and make sure you will be able to get about the same angle downhill for your 3rd link. I converted from leafs to 3 link this winter with the help of the Dirt Forum and Jerry Guest and our car became super fast.

Thanks for the help, it sounds like it will be fairly easy. All I need to figure out now is how to build the underslung rear portion. Any advice?
