Add cross weight, done that myself. Running too much off of the RR.

the weird thing about that is that we run over 160 lr, and run a stack lr, mono rr ,so really the rr dose not work much at all
but thanx for you input

If your burning the RR tire off, it is telling you that you have too much weight on that tire. I made a change one time that caused my cross to go to 48.5 % on accident and it made the car do exactly what your talking about.

I used to do that when I thought if you mashed the gas to the floor you'd go faster. On some momentum tracks where your always turning and leaning the car over that can be a problem the track is going to have. But like jammin says probably too much rr weight whether it's static or dynamic from rolling over to much.

well it is on a 1/2 mile, sharp turn, long straight track, i know it is not for leaning over to far, the car has 54% cross, so i really do not think that is it, and as for the to much rr weight, the car manufacture told us to put more rr in it when it was doing, that, that why i was asking the forum, it dose not make a whole lot of since to me to do that, so i just wanted to knwo your opinions, and thank you for them

Are the tires breaking loose alot...that's maybe why your car builder told you to put more weight over the rr..to keep it planted...excessive tire spin will definately chew up tires...

Here is a situation very similar that i encountered this year with a car i ran last year that another guy is running this year. Last year the car never hurt the tires and the lr was always within 10 degrees of the rr temp. The first few nights this year the other guy was burning up tires and the temps were way off. What we figured out was the car was too tight on entry for his driving style and he was using a lot of rear brake and throwing the car in to overcome the tight entry but in the process was abusing the rr. essentially we just loosened up entry and the wear and temps got alot better, heck he has even beat us once since then. But it goes to show how different drivers require different setups.
