Can anyone tell me how much clearance can I safely run between the rear seal at the transmission and the yolk on the driveshaft.
I have a 3 link with 7 degrees of pinion angle and a 900#/3700# pull bar angled down at 12 degrees. I currently have 1 1/4 inch clearance between the yolk and the back housing of the powerglide.

I think you should get it closer to 1 3/4. I guess it depends on how much travel you're getting from your pullbar......1 1/4 would worry me..

Thanks KK17, 1 1/4" is worrying me, thats why
I have asked all of yall on the forum for advise. This is a brand new car and I don't know how much travel I am going to get from my pullbar. I definitely don't want to bust a brand new Bushore. Anybody else have an opinion?

Artie,
I believe that the output shaft extends past the seal area of the housing. If this is the case, you wouldn't even have the 1 1/4" travel that you think you have. I think I would be looking for a shorter driveshaft.

1 3/4" to 2" is the average range you want.
