on a four bar...on the left side..does shortening the top rod and lengthening the bottom rod have an impact on forward bite..and if so how much should you do it...any thoughts on this..thanx..

what you described is actually reverse of indexing. It dosen't really affect forward bite, it help to turn the car when the rear tires hook up and try to push the car into the wall. The shorter bar pulls its end of the birdcage forward when its loaded, inducing rear steer. This helps to turn the car when your on the gas pullin the LF off the track.
