Please give me your opinions about the good and bad things about doing away with sliders/coil-over eliminators and putting the right spring on top of the axle and the left spring in front of the axle....

I like the sliders because of the ease of moving the springs to a different location. I run a homemade car and have tried the springs all over. But I guess once you know where you want your springs it would be better to not use them .

If you just look at the practical side of things sliders add weight, and require maintenance. When you fet into a little fender bender, chances are the sliders will get bent too. We have run both ways. JUst remember the sliders do require maintenance, cleaning and lubrication. LAst time I checked coil springs didn't need lubrication. You have to be careful with your spring mounts and make sure your spring alignmentis good if you go with open springs. My preference is to use open springs when possible.
