I wanted to know if you guys know of any manufacturers of a really good direct drive coupler for a glide.....the ones I have purchased before are very soft metal and seem to wear prematurely. Any ideas?

winters . you can get it from anyone that is a winters quick change dealer . get the steel hub . this is the best one out there!it has a snap ring to adjust the lenght off it . if you are running a mid plate put the snap ring in the middel groove. also put some high psi lubu on the spines of the coulper.

I don't know if anyone else does it, but We quit useing the rings, they were a pain. We made up some pucks to stick in the end of the crank to hold the correct distance, I think we have an eighth inch of play. We made ours out of aluminum, about .550 if I remember.

Ditto to rooster. I use the Tci hub and coupler with a allum bushing in the crank. I have had the same one for over 4 years and still going. When we didnt run the mid plate it wasnt that big a deal if you lost the ring but with the mid plate im sure if you lost it you would have pump damage.

We had one of those rings go bad on us also....so we started doing one of two things.....putting a large washer on the coupler and then welding it in place after we set it in the car or running a collar that bolts around the coupler to hold it in place. Just something else that can break if you dont do something with that ring...dont like them either.
