Does anyone know the exact weight savings on running a V-6 in relation to V-8?

I don't see where the weight saved on a V6 would be important with UMP mandating a 2350 lb weight rule, and IMCA's promoters option of 2400 lbs for 2001 and most likley mandatory for 2002.

Just my thoughts.

Is that 2400 pound weight option for 2001, with or without the driver? Thanks.

If that is the case, then a chrome moly chassis will not be necessary any more....it will make it better for everyone except the chassis builders.
