if your running a mechanical fuel pump about 9 psi do you need a by pass with a return line to the tank or can you go from the pump to the log & block off the return line will that be to much fuel to carb or not enought? what about at idle?...thanks

I ran my mod like this for the first year. Had about 9-11 psi. all the time. It worked fine for me.

You should run a bypass like a BG or C&S mech bypass.Your motor will run better use less fuel and alot easier on your needles and seats.

I've ran them both ways, and I've got to say it doesn't matter while your on the gas but under idle you would be better off with the throttle bypass because it drops the fuel pressure back to about 3psi and doesn't try and wash the cylinder walls with alky. Just my 2 cents!!!
