Does anyone out there run a tranny mount on the bottom of their Bert transmissions? I have seen the two bolt holes for a mount but never seen anyone that used them. I would like some input on this matter, also for the guys who run the glides; do you run a mount?

I dont have a bert trans but do have a brinn, and i dont use a rear mount. When i was running a glide i didnt use one on that either. I think as long as you have a strong bellhousing u will be ok, however i have seen cars with just a plain factory type aluminum bellhousing with the flywheel sheild bolted on. They never had a problem that i know of....

Jammin, I love my Brinn trans. It is probably the best investment a person can make if they are legal in your division...One place i called said that they stocked alot of spare parts for the Bert trans, but none for the Brinn, cause you wont need them...All i do is change the oil for the clutch pack every week...takes about 1qt. 50wt motor oil...no synthetic...Just put it in low and start to mash the clutch, to get rolling, then smoothly shift to drive...One of my competitors uses a Bert, he never has a problem with it...

DON'T mount the tailshaft solid on these transmissions. Any flex in the car and you WILL break the mounting ears on the trans. Take it to the bank.

This is for Mod racer 93. Who or where did you come up with running 50 weight in your Brinn? I bought my Brinn through a dealer/rebuilder and they stress Type F auto trans fluid, no synthetics. Just wondering.

Well, the papers just said use an oil, as long as it wasnt synthetic it was ok...So we use 50wt in the motor and we just put it in the trans also...Its just for the clutches to ride in i think...Should I use tranny fluid??? I dont know im not an expert...Help.

MOD 93,
When I got my Brinn, I was told motor oil would work fine as long as it was a racing oil. I'm like you, when I change the motor oil, I change the tranny oil. [every other night] Also, there is a good write-up about Brinn trannys in Stock Car Racing magazine. [Sept. '96] I've run mine 2 seasons...no problems, wouldn't have anything else.

Our track just went to brinns . They must be good because you can't find a good used one! My question is our they worth changing from a 2spd muncie and 5.5 tilton with reverse mount setup?
