I bought my car with a 9-inch already in it. I noticed that one of the rotors is cracked. I've been told these are Lincoln rotors(they are not the hat/rotor type), and it has metric calipers. What should I ask for when I go to the parts store to buy a new rotor??

If it's a 5x5 pattern a lincoln continental around 1976 should be the right one. Also some ford ltd's from the seventies had rear discs. Hope this helps.

if you're using metric calipers it probably has a 5x4.5" bolt pattern, although it could've been re-drilled. ask for the 82-up lincoln continental at the parts store. these are the small "fox" chassis lincolns with the sloped rear deck lid and macpherson struts on the front if you go to the pick-a-part.

also, ford made right and left rotors with the vanes angled different on each side for better cooling. if you get an aftermarket disk from the parts store, it will have straight vanes. the ford originals are better.

thanks for the help. my bolt pattern is 5x5 so they must be from the older Continental.
thanks again.

I use AMC Eagal rotors (early 80's) and have them drilled for small GM (4.75)
