Can I do this? How will it work? I have a sweet solid lifter cam, but have to run hydraulic lifters. Thanks.

I have a buddy that does it in his i stock and modified he said it just brings the lift down some. I dont know how it would change the lift but that is what he said.

and it turned into a flat cam it might have been something he did to it tho but i have heard of guys doing it with success but we have also ran hydro's against solid and kicked but llike 10 said it will change the lift of the cam so you might be better off just goin with a hydro thats close to eliminate any problems

I did it for about 3 years.. worked great..The only thing I notice was the motor did not rev as quick as it dose with solid ...I used the rhodes racing lifters..

The federal mogul (TRW's) anti-pump up lifters need to be treated almost like mechanicals. The bleed-down rate is next to nil. Ya gotta put them in a vise and crank the life out of them just to get them to bleed a little. These might be your best bet if your gonna give it a shot.

you can use the solid with those lifters as long as you leave 20 thousandths clearance to let the lifter prime up. after it is prime it acts as a solid

hydraulics have a slight ramp to pump up the lifter slightly that's why u can't put solids on a hyd cam,the only problem that may happen is the lifters may not give full lift out of cam if they are not ramped up?
