Is a camaro subframe lighter than a 75-79 nova subframe. I run pontiac and am trying to overcome the extra front end weight and was wondering if this would help. Thanks

I can't be sure on this but I was told that the novas have heavier material in the frame horn areas. Like I said I've never had the chance to check but thats what I was told.

When I wrecked my Ventura street stock(77), I put in a 76 Camaro stub, no difference as far as I could see. My GM buds say there no difference but I'm no expert. My racing book for dummies says only spindles where different with 77-78 spindles being 3.5 ibs. lighter. If there is a lighter stub I'd like to know. How bout' an aluminum front bumper?

75-79 Novas should be the same as 70-81 Camaros. 68-74 Novas were rear steer and had a much different stub. I believe 77-78 spindles were lighter, and 80-81 used metric outer tie rods and 79-81 used different wheel bearings/hubs/rotors, but you can use any of these pieces on any of these cars(except 68-74) as long as you know what year they are so you match them up correctly. You can take the complete front suspension and steering off a 81 and put it on a 75 as long as you put it back together the way you took it apart. The stubs are the same.
