Alright, my transmission rules are stated below. The car is about 3,000lbs and 400-500hp. The track is a high banked 1/4 mile...Very fast. What should I run for a tranny? Please take weight, cost and relability into account. Thanks in advance!

"Stock factory type transmissions only. Single disc factory type clutch only. No high-dollar clutches, or aluminum flywheels. 180 1/4" thick scatter shield (blow-proof) mandatory. Automatic transmissions must run a torque converter. No trick transmissions. All transmissions must have a working torque converter."

i would just run a 3speed saginaw unles you could find municy. i ran a saginaw for the last 3 years and the only problem i have had is i broke one housing. cracked all over the top and down the sides. but they are cheap and as long as you dont grind gears when you take off from the staging area it should be fine.

Ive ran a 3-speed Saginaw since 91 and have had no problems at all as a matter of fact its the same 3-speed from 91. I do have 2 others in the shop just incase. I run an additve in it to help it. This year im going to switch to a powerglide it will lighten the car up a bit. Eddie
