mocking up motor and tranny in my hobby stock
engine placement rule is #3 plug line up with driver baljoint with a square set against head.my questin is what shoud pinion angle and trans angle be with a anglefinder set on back of tailhousing (face of it)i have engine tipped to left a little and am wondering what angle motor should be? help me out so i can weld the mounts permanantly.

My idea would be to move it to the left as far as you can without messing up your steering rod and/or headers and lower it as far as you can .I keep my drivetrain as level and sqaure as possible and run a little pinion angle on the rear end I think this helps everything work better at high RPMS JMO JUst a ? why #3 we always used #1

4 degrees down toward the rear measured on top of the driver's side valve cover. #3 @ the ball joint is kinda weird!

was told by tech man that the class requires engine to be in there with #3 plug lined up with bj on that side.can you line #1 up with it and still run a stock type fuel pump without cutting crossmember?

No, it must be cut.

thats why they go by #3 plug then because we are not allowed to modify cross member or engine cradle in any way.
