there is one at arlington raceway in MN he started 2 years ago and started slow but this year he started to come on really strong running up front but from everyone i know that has run a ford says it is really spendy to build the motors and now drive gm cars

The only reason Ford's cost more in the beginning is there is not enough people running them and all the info you need to go fast is not there, you have to learn by trial and error. With a Cheverolet you can ask just about any parts store and go reasonably fast starting only if the chassis and driver work together, same as Ford. After running Ford's for about 7 yrs and learning them by the t@e method cause the tech wasnt there when i started i do pretty good considering i build engines on a budget but can build real nice ones just like the chevies you just have to know where to buy the parts. For speed parts for the Ford I have found some local parts stores a bit biased towards them and they seem to price the parts way to high compared to a similar GM part and i usually find them for less on the net or in a catalog.

custom you are absolutely correct. most guys shy away from fords because they don't know how to make them go fast. i've raced fords for 20 years and still get a chuckle when the chevy guys are lookin' at my stuff, scratchin' their heads.

Super stock track champ 3yrs. in a row 396 c.i. Ford cost about 3,000- 3,500 and beats Chevies that cost 3 to 4 times as much with ease.
