Hey Guys, I am building a 1981-83 Buick Regal
I need some help in the weight to take out and rear spring rates, I will be racing on our 1/3 clay oval, with minimal banking. I have seen trunks completely gutted out, but in my trunk I see 1 bar on each side that is supporting the quarter panels....do I cut those out and make bars from the rear hoop to support it or leave the stockbars in?
any help is greatly appreciated.

from what i have seen over the years a little tail weight never hurt anybody as far as springs i run 250lr and 200 rr but i run on tracks that have some decent bank to them

Take all the weight out of the front you can. Gut the doors, fenders, hood, and remove the sides of the fire wall where the hinges are these weigh a ton.
