If a guy had access to all the .o95 tubing he needed, how much do you think a fabricator would want to bend him up a cage and install it? I mean 4 pt cage, front loop, rear downbars, install the seat mounts, totally welded out? If ya don't know-take a guess!

i've built quite a few racecars using different sized tubing in different areas of the car. i've never really checked footage, but i think 200'-300' should be plenty. i like to use 1 3/4" for the main cage, drivers door bars and bumpers, 1 1/2" for the kick downs and passenger door bars, 1"x2" square for my floor "X" and 2"x2" square for frames/frame connectors and 1 1/4" and 1" for misc. other bracing. 3/4"x3/4" square for body mounts.

more than likely around $500-700. most chassis run around 1000-1500 now a days and i would guess 500 of it is the tubing

duh..........that one went right over my first. i agree with racer17j. it's going to cost you at least $500. the cost of the tubing alone should be less than $200 if you know where to get it.

We build chassis in my shop in Michigan, and I can build a street/bomber chassis for about 1200.00 depending what you want done.

1 3/4 main cage with 4 door bars and 1 1/2 front and rear bars with X in rear and on frame and kick downs.

Got the Camaro back from the fabricator on Thursday. Nice four point cage-set waaaaaaay back. Four bars in drivers door, three bars in rt door, one dash bar three rear firewall bars (2 horisontal, one diagonal) one down to subframe from behind driver, one from front post to subframe, two front bars thru firewall to just in front of the A-frames, two rear downbars thru package shelf, one loop @ rear between tail lights. Used 6 1/2 twenty foot sticks of tubing. Furnished 2X3 box tubing to weld in floorboards to mount cage to (rules don't allow subframe connectors) and furnished checkplate to cover package tray and rear firewall. Labor and mat'ls $300.00 I furnished the tubing.
Want a good, safe, inexpensive rollcage?
