We just made a healthy investment in a new 9" rear end for our SS which includes: lite weight spool, new gears, racing axles, and bearings and seals. It was set up by a local expert and it set us back some cash, so I want the best possible lubricant in there. What do you guys recommend? Synthetic? 75W? 90W?

I would recommend synthetic. We have not had a problem with gears in 5 years since switching to synthetic. Mobil 1 gear lube or amsoil is easy to get.

I'm learning that most folks agree that the synthetic offers benefits, but what about viscosity?

SS6M how often do you change the synthetic in the rear end. I use 80-90 and change it after every 3 races i also run a 10 bolt right now and check it to make sure everything is holding up. Eddie
