Help!!!!!

I am getting ready to finish my Street Stock for the remaining half of season. Everything is complete...Except My body and Body Frame...The frame is a 87' olds cutlass, my new body is that of a 78' Monte Carlo....I've never done this stage before, and getting so flustered over this....Any Suggestions, Advice, or any website that has photos or info on this matter would be a world of help......

Saturday night is Deadline...lol
Thanks Gator G29

this depends what your local rules are, but in pa guys are hanging them like late model bodies. take and completely gut every panel out so you have just the skin (a torch works good if you are steady enough) then weld tabs off the frame rails, roll cage, any where you can. take and run aluminum angle along the insides of the panels, and then use aluminum strip from frame and cage tabs to the alum angle. it bolts together fairly easy, and the alum strips are easyto bend out when you get in a tangle.

hope this helps

do you just have a bare frame setting there or is the cage on it and an old body give us a little more info there are lots of ways to do this but let us know where you are setting before we can tell you more. also if you have the cage done do you have any bars going back to the trunk area and to protect the fuel cell i have a very ez way to do it but need to know how you have it set up also how much stock floor pan do you have ?and do you have to use all of it?

You're not gonna get this done by saturday, but here's how I did mine.

Put the roof on the cage first, making sure its in the correct place front to back of the car and distance off the floor pan, otherwise thw wheel wells will be off. Next, attach the fenders and doors to each other, either weld them or rivet (I prefer rivets). All thats left is hanging the sides on the car. You're gonna have to build some brackets for each end of the sides, but the doors should rivet directly to the cage bars. Also, rivet the sides to the roof at the A,B and C pillars.

Weld in some pins for the hood and trunk and you're done.

You're gonna need at least one other guy and a couple days. It isn't as easy as it sounds. It takes alot of time to make sure everything is straight.

Hey..Racer17j......

Sorry about the poor description...i realized it after posting..

OK, the car is from last year....Frame and cage are all done, Cage bars run criss-cross back to each rear frame corner (protecting cell). All we did was yank motor/trans, and skinned it.....everything still intact from last year. Floor pans are intact, back shelfing has been removed, I want to enclose this rear area as a deck lid with sheet metal..im sure you know what im talking about... thanks

the way we do it you will have to cut out the rear bars and sleave them back in when your done but it makes the body part alot easier basicly just cut the front roof posts in the same spot on bolth car then cut it across the floor pan where it comes up for the rear seat it will lift right off and put the new one on weld the roof posts and weld the floor . makes sure you cut the floors so you will have some overlap to weld to and hang the doors like western said and the frenders the same way the old ones were very ez can be done in one nite if you have a few freinds that can lift
