I am going through upper a arms on my metric car like a sailor goes through money on shore leave! I have seen welding a piece of rebar into the bottom lip, but does anyone have any more ideas and does anyone make a weld on plate to reinforce them?

I've seen this post many times, if you get hit hard, you want that A-arm to bend before anything else. I say don't reinforce them, they could save the frame.

I agree that you want the arm to bend before the frame. But is the frame really that weak? it seems like if you look wrong at a metric upper they bend in half. i would think a little strengthening would be good, just dont make them bulletproof.

Just cut the metric front stub out from under it and graft in a camaro stub. then you get all the good geometry of the camaro suspension. and if done right, tech will just sit there and look at it and wonder how the heck.
