I know a 2nd generation Camaro rearend is wider than a 75-79 Nova rearend and I want to know if anyone has used a Camaro rearend in their Nova?

How will a wider rearend affect handling?

I've taken Camaro rearends and put them in a Nova and Nova rearends and put them in a Camaro. However...I never tried bolting them up directly to the springs with their existing spring pads, so I'm not sure how much difference there is. The pads are replaced in order to change pinion angle. The wider rearend will push your rear tires a little further out, unless you use a wheel with less outset on the rear. Whether you'll benefit from the right rear set a little further out will depend on track conditions and your setup in my opinion.

I raced a 77 nova for 3 years. Don,t remember any difference in overall width but, the spring perches are different, spaced wider on camaros I think. Good time to change those tire popping shock and spring mount plates that novas have or at least mine did. and camaros have a 8.5 ring gear. Should be able to move perches and have a nice day.
